I´m here again and I´m experimenting new things … all right, I haven´t made any exotic dish from a distant land with a secret recipe handed down from generation to generation … no, it´s only a red fruits tart, I think that one of the most common kinds of tart, but for me this is the first 🙂
I’ve also used an ingredient that I hadn´t employed ever before, and in principle, I didn´t have much hope of it: frozen berries … Why? …, because they are much cheaper than fresh and because the frozen company where I bought them are famous here in Paris and I think in France in general. They have everything, including meals prepared… and I mean things like «scallop dish with shrimp cream sauce and vegetables» and other stuffs like that… I have to try it one day 🙂
The fact is that the red fruits turned out to be a pleasant surprise … all right, I’m not going to cheat, I wouldn´t use them to make a fruit salad but they are perfect to include them in a tart, and the best thing: they aren´t bland ! On the contrary they have given an amazing flavor to the cake!
Ingredients:
190 g flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
175 g sugar
1 egg
120 ml milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
400 g of red fruits (blackberries, raspberries, cherries, strawberries, blueberries, … whatever you want!) If you want you can use fresh fruit, but if you can not because of the price or because they are out of season, … don´t doubt it, use frozen fruits!
Método:
1. Preheat oven to 160 ° C
2. Mix in a bowl flour, baking powder and salt.
3. Beat butter with sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
4. Add milk, egg and vanilla to the above mixture and mix well.
5. Incorporate the mixture of point 2 gradually and beat until the dough is smooth.
6. Pour the mixture into a pie pan (diameter about 25 cm) previously buttered.
7. Bake for about 50-60 minutes.
Easy, right?… So, get to work!… With your permission … I´m going to try it!! 🙂
